Since February 2026, Resolution 737 requires every wireless mouse sold in Chile to include a QR code on its packaging linked to a compliance page. Bluetooth vs USB dongle: both require compliance
There is a misconception among some importers that mice using a proprietary USB dongle (2.4 GHz receiver) do not require SUBTEL compliance because they "are not Bluetooth." This is incorrect. 2.4 GHz radio frequency receivers are short-range devices regulated by Resolution 1985 just like Bluetooth. Both technologies operate in the 2.4 GHz ISM band and are subject to Resolution 737. Additionally, many modern mice offer dual connectivity (Bluetooth + 2.4 GHz dongle), meaning the radio module may support both modes. The compliance page must declare all radio capabilities of the device, regardless of whether the user uses one, the other, or both. Wireless conference presenters are also included in this category.
